JG M4 S-System Review

The Gun: A beautiful rendition of the S-system M4; covered in rails.

The price: $140 plus shipping. (Shipping is free on most sites.)

The Package: The gun, mini battery, 1 300-round hi-cap magazine.

Materials: Pretty much all ABS aside from the gearbox, barrel, and a few little doodads.

FPS: Supposedly ranging from 400-420, depending on the gun.

Rate of Fire: FAST.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It's a very low-cost alternative to the other S-systems out there, and is probably the best cost/performance ratio.

The gun itself is realistically heavy, so a vert foregrip would be a great idea (I recommend the spring-loaded bipod grip!), but the read handle has a nub just below where the middle finger should be that can make carrying it uncomfortable. Either modifying the existing grip or just buying a whole new one is recommended.

When inserting the battery, you have to line it up almost perfectly. The foregrip unfolds to allow battery insertion. If you don't get it JUST right, you can't close it back up, making battery changes during combat incredibly dangerous.

The gun is pretty short, by most standards, but has enough kick to act as either a CQB or ranged weapon. Also, one of my favorite features is that when removing the magazine, the loading tube creates a wonderful vacuum, so no more BBs spilling out of the reciever when you change mags. It is, of course, compatible with Marui and Star magazines.

The hop-up is easy to adjust, the magazine fits in snugly, and the rails on the foregrip are (somewhat) movable, allowing for a variety of different positions for different accessories. '

The flip-up sights are a GODSEND. The pop easily up and down with little effort, but when mine was delivered, the front sight was loose and askew. Beware this problem! I just used a strip of black Duct Tape multi-wrapped to keep it in place, but it looks less professional because of this.

Pros:
Good cost/performance ratio
Battery included
Fast, strong shooter
Crane stock
Flip-up sights
Hi-cap mag included; mag vacuum holds BBs in the loading tube
Movable side and bottom rails
RAILS LIKE NO OTHER!

Cons:
Battery insert is petty wonky
ABS plastic body
Nub on the pistol grip makes for uncomfortable shooting (without a vertical grip)

Overall rating: 9/10
